Why Weddings?
Primarily a theatre photographer, I was absolutely terrified of weddings for the longest time! The cynic in me hated all the fluff, the stiff posing and soft focus filters. It turns out I'd just been looking at bad wedding photography.
What I love about weddings is the unique experience every single wedding brings. Sure, we'll tick the boxes, get those shots for Gran's mantelpiece but everything between the first kiss, the cake and the first dance is wonderful and unique to each and every couple; two people committing their lives to a partnership and out to have some bloody good fun while they're at it!
Wedding photography shares a lot with theatre photography - don't get under anyone's feet and tell the story. So I'd love to hear yours.
My experience in theatre photography has given me some serious ninja skills and given the choice, I'll always go for the sneaky candid photo instead of the posed image. Capturing moments as they happen is an essential part of my coverage and it's the idea that leads me throughout the day. Essentially, I want you to have fun and not worry about posing for photos - it's your day, I'm there to help you preserve the memories.
You might have noticed in my images, I rarely create carefully staged romantic images and prefer to allow my couples some time to enjoy the time together and show off who they are both as individuals and as a couple - especially if we do the couple's portraits right after the ceremony. The joy, the excitement and at times, the relief - the months of planning, finally come together - is what I hope to capture in your portraits. Weddings are a wonderful display of humanity and I love focusing on the antics you and your guests get up to - from the thrill of the first kiss as a married couple, to the hilariously embarrassing speeches, to the father-of-the-bride asleep in his chair at the afterparty...

I create my packages individually for every couple, based on your and your family's needs, but as a general guideline...
The Big One
Full Day Coverage
The entire day and a good portion of the party (that's really when the most fun photos happen...). I don't set a time limit to my coverage, it's something we can work out on an individual basis.
Engagement photography
A wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and talk about your day, in a casual setting with some photos - whether it's your favourite spot in town or a wander in nature.
What you get...
500+ carefully edited high resolution images, delivered to you on a USB within 6 to 8 weeks. A small preview album for social media/family available shortly after the day. You will also have access to an online gallery that you can share with your friends and family, allowing them to download individual images and buy prints. The online gallery also offers a full and secure digital download of your images.
Prints and wedding books are something I can help with and I can design and get them printed for you. Equally, if you'd like to do your own, that's alright by me, all the high resolution files you'll receive are 100% print-ready!
